Rye Brook, New York – Littman Krooks LLP Partner Amy C. O’Hara, Esq., CELA®, was sworn in as President to the Board of Directors of the Special Needs Alliance, a national invitation-only organization comprised of attorneys dedicated to the practice of special needs planning, disability and public benefits law on October 21, 2023. SNA membership is based on a combination of relevant legal experience in the disability and elder law fields, direct family experience with disability, active participation with national, state, and local disability advocacy organizations, and professional reputation.

Amy’s practice is focused in the areas of special needs planning, estate and trust planning and administration, elder law, guardianship, and personal injury settlement consulting. She lectures frequently to professional and advocacy organizations and families on the importance of proper planning for families with special needs members, elder law and trusts and estates.

She is recognized as a Certified Elder Law Attorney® (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), the only organization approved by the American Bar Association to offer certification in the practice area of elder law. Littman Krooks is the only law firm in Westchester County with three CELA® accredited attorneys.

Amy is a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), Elder Law and Special Needs Section, where she serves as vice co-chair of the Special Needs Planning Committee; a member of the NYSBA Trusts & Estates Section, a member of the American Bar Association, Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, where she services as vice chair of the Special Needs Planning Committee; and a member of the Westchester County Bar Association. She also is President of the Board of Directors of Westchester Disabled on the Move, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life, independence, and the rights for all people with disabilities.
